TKM takes place in the 1930's during segregation and before Dr. King's inspirational leadership. How has America changed from the years of TKM, the fight of Dr. King, and today? Should be 100-150 words.

America has changed a lot between the 1930's and the fight of Dr.Martin Luther King J.R. back in the 1930's most people didn't really understand the whole "segregation" thing so they kind of accepted it except for a few people who knew what was going on and decided to do something about it. As opposed to during DR.King's times when most black people started to learn about the rights they didn'tt have and needed to fight for and it took them a very long time to get those rights. Today there is almost no discrimination between race except for a few small groups that don't make much of an impact and some small places in the south still aren't very nice to black people but the way i see it is you can't eliminate racism 100% but you can ask people to change and most of the time they will. I hope racism becomes an even smaller threat with our new president Barack Obama but i also fear that if he doesn't do as good of a job as he says he will or people expect of him racism may worsen.

january 8th homework

a theme that i thought was most prevalent throughout chapter 15 was honor and courage and shame and cowardice. This is because Jem shows honor and courage when he takes Dill and Scout to find Atticus after dinner, he also shows honor and courage when he stands up to Atticus by not taking Dill and Scout home when he is asked to. Scout shows honor and courage by talking to the men that she didn't even know and making Mr. Cunningham and all the other men leave. She also makes Mr. Cunningham talk to her about his son which took courage. This chapter shows that no matter what the other people in town are saying about him and his family Atticus will still go to any lengths to protect his client and his children. This chapter shows that Mr. Cunningham is a sucker for little innocent kids because after scout starts talking to him about his son and other things that Atticus has told her about he tells all of the men to leave and go home.

stages of morality

Obedience: Jem and Scout follow the stage of obedience. they are obedient because they do whatever they need to do to make sure Atticus isn't mad at them and to make sure that he is happy with them so they don't get punished. Order and law: Atticus always follows the law ecause he is a very respectful person and appreciates other people.
